Agroforestry

Agroforestry is the integration of trees and shrubs with agricultural crops or pasture. Agroforestry can take many forms, the most commonly used being:

– alley cropping (in rows) in field crops (Alley Cropping)

– scattered (in a grid) in pastures (Silvopasture)

– riparian buffer strips / watercourse protection (Riparian buffers)

– hedges / wind protection

We believe that agroforestry systems should be the norm in agricultural landscapes, they increase a farm’s resilience to the negative effects of climate change (drought, weather anomalies) and, with proper planning, can be a significant source of income.

We design tree canopy systems tailored to the farm context, selecting species according to site type, habitat conditions, etc. Our work emphasises the functionality, simplicity, ecosystem and economic benefits of tree planting.

Thanks to the steadfast work and vision of my grandfather Joseph and the expertise of my father Paul, we have intergenerational experience in designing, establishing and managing such systems.
